Call To Action
Getting sick of the power company ripping you off every month? Are you feeling powerless to them? Like there is nothing that you can do? With the economy tap dancing with uncertainty and the power companies consistently raising the price of our monthly bills, I got FED UP!
I took notice to all of the solar panels I saw on homes on the internet, around my city and on TV. In doing some searching on the internet, I noticed an awesome phenomenon. People everywhere are putting their foot down and building their own renewable energy systems. Whether its solar, wind or magnetic.
I thought to myself after seeing these "DIY" plans, that it would be too hard for me, as I am not an expert in building things. I decided to do more research and see if I could find some videos on people who were building their own solar panels. I found alot of videos with people who didn't live in giant mansions or even modestly big houses. It looked pretty step by step from what I could tell. I decided to give it a try and buy one of the guides that had video instructions.
When I got my hands on the blueprints, I could tell it all looked really well laid out and easy to follow, but many times things are easier said than done. I already knew that building solar panels wasn't very expensive, and I went and got the parts from Lowes. Yeah I was shocked to find out Lowes had solar panel parts, check yours to see if they carry them. The work wasn't all that hard and there was a great section on "safety precautions" which I hadn't even thought about. I'm glad that that was included because being on a steep rooftop can be a little scary at times.
I finished my project very quickly, I thought it was going to take about a month but to my suprise, I was able to build my own solar energy panel system that I paid less than $220 for in a weekend. I never thought that building something like this would be so easy. I have heard that solar installation by a company costs about $20,000 which is unbelievable. I think they are going to go out of business soon once this catches on. Plus it takes the company a lot longer to install them and they charge for labor.
I have now drastically cut down on the amount of money that I pay the power company and I am looking forward to tackling a wind turbine project as this will help cut down on my bill even more. I've heard that solar energy and home wind power are a great combo that require very little maintenance after they are installed. I got the plans to build these power kill billing projects on solar-energyhome.net. If you think this is too difficult for you to build you are dead wrong, get one of the guides that you like and go for it! Just do it! My friends and I are now helping each other install these renewable energy systems and we finish off with frothy cold beverages! To getting rid of your power bill and more money in your pocket! Cheers!
